New Narratives: The Bobbin Console

Traditional in detail, sculptural in silhouette, elegant in proportions; take a closer look at the Bobbin Console, the latest addition to our collection.

The Bobbin Console table incorporates the rhythm of our interpretation of the 17th Century English and Dutch spool or bobbin furniture. Upright and avoiding any laziness in the turning. There is a central drawer in the front rail, lined with super-soft burnt orange suede. This console table is handcrafted in English oak, which is then naturally ebonised for a more contemporary look.

Originally designed for Sherbourne Interiors as part of a larger commission. The Bobbin Console is now available in a 3 sizes and a variety of sustainable British timbers.

Styling Notes

Traditionally, consoles were designs for narrow entrances and hallways, to be a versatile and unimposing presence. But consoles aren’t just for hallways. The Bobbin Console can be used as a bar, a vanity, a desk, even butted to the back of your sofa, styled with a table lamp, books and found objects.

The open-leg base will maintain an airy feel when natural light and space are in short supply, perfect for sliding a couple of stools underneath. We suggest using the Bobbin Console as an anchor point for hanging a large mirror or piece of art above.

NEW NARRATIVES: SPLIT TURNED BENCH

At its heart, the Split Turned Bench is an exercise in large-scale wood turning, carefully laminated timber shaped into a voluminous, rhythmic seat surface that ripples from one end to the other. It shows how far the process can be pushed, both technically and visually.
