This south London modernist property is the backdrop to Studio Ashby's latest project. An intelligent mix of natural materials, rich textures and contemporary artworks make up this beautiful and distinctive family home.
As with most family homes, the kitchen is the heart of the home and the kitchen table is arguably the hardest working piece of furniture in that space. This bespoke Capsule Ingot Dining Table was commissioned to sit in the open plan kitchen, dining, living room.
The Capsule Ingot Dining Table is styled with vintage Danish rosewood chairs, a Ladies & Gentlemen Studio light and Phillip Maltman's 'Devon Diptych'.
The soft curved silhouette, supported by a sturdy twin ingot pedestal is a confident and reassuring presence. The naturally deep tones of ebonised oak, combined with these soft curves are a quiet nod to early modern design of 1930's. A time when interiors were a celebration of material and craftsmanship, often utilising scale and proportion to challenge perceptions of conventional interiors. We think the Capsule Ingot works beautifully in this double height space, with its grand proportions and feelings of openness.
